چکیده

Diseases caused by plant pathogens pose significant challenges to crop yield and quality, thus incurring a serious constraint on the global food supply. Genome editing using clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats (CRISPR)-Cas (CRISPR-associated nuclease) system has revolutionized field of biology biotechnology. New technologies derived from CRISPR-Cas enable genetic improvement for disease resistance development tools early detection pathogens. This review discusses canonical advanced genome available understanding host–pathogen interaction developing host resistance. We categorically cite examples use technology in disease-resistant crops. CRISPR-Cas9 have enabled us apply novel strategies confer against several like bacteria, viruses, fungi, nematodes. CRISPR diagnostic methods been developed leveraging system’s precise ability bind cleave nucleic acids. also discussed different CRISPR-diagnostic fast detection.

Antiviral Defenses in Plants through Genome Editing

Plant-virus interactions based-studies have contributed to increase our understanding on plant resistance mechanisms, providing new tools for crop improvement. In the last two decades, RNA interference, a post-transcriptional gene silencing approach, has been used to induce antiviral defenses in plants with the help of genetic engineering technologies. More recently, the new genome editing syst...

Genome Editing Tools in Plants

Genome editing tools have the potential to change the genomic architecture of a genome at precise locations, with desired accuracy. These tools have been efficiently used for trait discovery and for the generation of plants with high crop yields and resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. Due to complex genomic architecture, it is challenging to edit all of the genes/genomes using a particul...

Genome editing with engineered nucleases in plants.

Numerous examples of successful 'genome editing' now exist. Genome editing uses engineered nucleases as powerful tools to target specific DNA sequences to edit genes precisely in the genomes of both model and crop plants, as well as a variety of other organisms. The DNA-binding domains of zinc finger (ZF) proteins were the first to be used as genome editing tools, in the form of designed ZF nuc...

Genome-Editing Technologies for Enhancing Plant Disease Resistance

One of the greatest challenges for agricultural science in the 21st century is to improve yield stability through the progressive development of superior cultivars. The increasing numbers of infectious plant diseases that are caused by plant-pathogens make it ever more necessary to develop new strategies for plant disease resistance breeding. Targeted genome engineering allows the introduction ...
